How do I use the Internet/wifi?
There are two possible wifi options– MotiveSpace-2.4 and MotiveSpace-5. The first has wider range, but is slower. The latter has shorter range and is a little faster, but only works with new PC’s or MACS. The password for Suite 303 tenants is nonprofitrocks.
What is the code to the front and side doors?
*18979 gets you through both the front and the side doors to the building. The code will change once a year or more for security purposes. Please give the code only to staff and volunteers organization who will utilize it frequently.
How do I access and use the loading dock?
The building’s loading dock is locating on NW 6th between Flanders and Glisan. Once you’re inside the Barn, it is located through the door directly across from the elevator. Control the loading dock door by using the panel located on the back wall of the loading doc. It has three buttons labeled “Open” “Close” and “Stop.” Unless you’re moving in, please make every attempt to use the loading doc for no more than 15 minutes. Keep the door closed when possible, and make sure the door is closed if you are not staying with your truck or car. Please note: to fit in the loading doc your truck must be no larger than 11′-6″ tall, 13′-0″ wide, and 19′-0″ long.
Where do I get rid of trash and recycling?
If the trash or recycling in your office or in the Barn shared space is full you may can take extra down to the loading dock, which has large labeled bins for recycling and garbage. Please sort accordingly.
What are the elevator dimensions?
Width: 6′-5″; Length: 6′-5″.
Who do I contact with maintenance issues and questions?

How many building keys can I have? How do I get them?
We can give you three sets of keys to your unit and to the bathroom; additional keys beyond that amount require a $10 fee. Each key must be assigned to a specific person in your organization, and for lost keys we need to charge $50 in addition to the key replacement cost as we will need to re-key the suite doors. Please contact Jackie directly at the number above to order new keys.
Where is the nearest public parking? What are the rates?
Street parking is frequently available around the Barn. There is a secure parking garage on the same block as the building with the entrance between Broadway and 6th Street, on Flanders. Here are the details:

Can I pay my rent online? How does billing get handled?
All rent checks should be made out to MotiveSpace. You can set up a recurring payment through MotiveSpace’s website if you have a paypal account. Because there are fees to the organization for processing credit cards we do need to add a surcharge of 3% for the transaction.
How is phone and internet handled?
You can opt in to MotiveSpace’s program for internet and phone service if you choose; for small offices of less then 12 people this has typically been the most cost effective program, but rates vary slightly depending on needs. A phone line typically starts around $60/month, but goes down if you have more than one phone line. For tenants with private suites the rates range significantly depending on data usage and individual needs.
Where are the restrooms located? Are they locked?
The restrooms are located on the west end of the building on the 2nd and 3rd floors, and on the east end of the fourth floor. The restroom keys allow access to all the restrooms in the building.
What public transit is available nearby?
The Barn is located on the Green, Orange and Yellow lines of the MAX. The northbound stop is at Union Station/NW 6th & Hoyt. The southbound stop is located on Union Station/NW 5th & Glisan. Bus lines 9, 33, 44 stop at NW 6th and Flanders; Bus lines 4, 8, 16, 35, 43, 44, 77 stop at NW Everett and 5th; Bus line 17 stops at NW Broadway and Irving.
Where is there secure bike parking?
Several racks are located along the north and south walls of the raised area in the loading dock.
Is storage available in the building?
Yes. There are several secure storage units available in the basement of slightly different sizes and spaces. The rates generally range from between $75/month – $145/month.
What insurance requirements does my organization need to cover?
As is standard in any lease, tenants in the building must list both MotiveSpace and Schlesinger Companies as additional insured to their general liability policy. Insurance companies do this at no charge. If you do not yet have a general liability policy, we recommend contacting Larry Johnson at LaPorte and Associates for a quote at 503-239-4116.
Can we mount objects on the old brick walls?
Tenants in shared suites should always ask before hanging on walls but typically may do so within their spaces. They can mount to brick wall by pounding a nail or masonry screw into grout between brick.
